Quality matters when it comes to cable
The safety and quality of our products is the cornerstone of everything we do at Autac. Poor-performing cables can have a costly impact. Reduced reliability. Expensive fleet downtime. Poor on-time delivery resulting in customer frustration and financial penalties.
How does investing in Autac’s cables protect your business from such financial and reputational risk?
Robust design
It starts with robust design. Autac’s investment in SolidWorks CAD software gives the greatest insight yet into 3D imaging and how a cable might look, perform and interact in your chosen environment. The ability to conceive a cable’s performance without investing in costly physical prototypes.
A key element of Autac’s design support is finding suitable solutions to reduce risk to end users such as drivers and engineers. Recognising the number of accidents linked to the coupling and uncoupling of electrical coils is but one example, and why we joined forces with one of the most renowned sliding rail, Euroboom & A-Frame manufacturers in the UK. Our partnership with Nexus® Vehicle Systems brought together our high quality coils with the concept of the Nexus® Trailer Slider which has reduced the need to access the catwalk and therefore significantly decrease the number of accidents.
Made in Britain
Once designs have been approved, the Autac manufacturing process uses only the best-in-class raw materials. We take our Made in Britain membership very seriously and all that brings in terms of the highest levels of craftmanship. Our cables are all manufactured in and 100% tested at our site in Macclesfield, Cheshire, under the watchful eye of our expert engineers.
Along with our long-standing ISO 9001/2015 quality accreditation, we are active members of the ISO community. Our Technical Director, Simon Pearce, has acted as convener of ISO’s working group on connecting cables for towed and towing vehicles for some two years. It’s our expertise in plugs, sockets, wire, cable and connectors that makes us ideally placed to engage through ISO on the subjects that matter most to our industry.
